Two Days in NYC – Day 2

From my previous post, I spoke about my relatives 2 day visit back in July. I planned a long tiring day that did not go according to plan. So as expected, the same happened for day 2 as well.

My original plan:

Poncho Free Weather Service for NYC residents: review + referral link

Poncho Homepage

Poncho Homepage

I have been using this free weather service for the past month now. It’s good for people who forget to check the weather before heading out the door in the morning. Who hasn’t done that before? I pretty much forget every morning, except now I see my phone flashing indicating that I got a new text. Continue reading

Two Days in NYC – Day 1

Back in July, some relatives of mine came to NYC with the plan of spending only 2 days here. Being the excited host and planner that I am, I planned out the 2 days in great detail. I really wanted my cousin to be able to see the best of NYC had to offer and wanted to squeeze in the restaurants/eateries she sent me (apparently she loves yelp). What made it easier was that she wanted to visit MoMa and the High Line which made my job easier for planning. She is a huge kpop fan so I definately wanted to take her to Koreatown.

This is what my plan looked like:

12:00pm – 1:30pm
Lunch – Korea town
1:30pm – 2:30pm
Walk around 34th Street
2:30pm – 3:00pm
Travel to MoMa
3:00pm – 5:00pm
MoMa – 11 W 53rd St, New York, NY ‎
5:00pm – 6:30pm
Central Park walk to Columbus Square
7:00pm – 8:30pm
Dinner at St Marks – St Marks
8:30pm – 10:00pm
Walk around 42nd St

Can bankruptcy help to save your home from being foreclosed?

This is a guest post by Sophia Kinsella. Sophia is a financial writer and offers her advice to many people suffering with business related problem. She contributes articles to many sites and guides people through different forums.

Foreclosure is undoubtedly a nightmare for every homeowner. However, it’s possible to avoid foreclosure by filing bankruptcy. This will help to stall foreclosure proceedings and other notorious debt collection practices. In fact, through bankruptcy many homeowners have been able to save their properties permanently.

Peter Orville, an experienced attorney from Binghamton, N.Y., believes “It’s the best tool there is for people behind in payments but who have ongoing income”. The homeowners struggling to pay off the mortgage loan may get some time to continue their payments after filing bankruptcy. This helps a lot in averting foreclosure by paying off the mortgage.

Look in your email for a direct link, or activate via this link.

There seems to be something wrong with the signup link. I’ve had success just logging into my account online here. Category sign up should be the first screen you see after you log in. For some reason the link I received in my email did not work. If you are still having trouble with the category signup, you can reach Customer Service at 1-866-775-0556. Currently there isn’t a list of merchants that qualify as a department store, but I would say it’s safe to follow the list from Chase Freedom.

Update: (Sept 25, 2013) I’ve been getting significant traffic to this post. I assume it’s because many people are having issues signing up for the Q3 categories. Please comment below to let me and others know if you have been successful with the links I have above. For me, I know my signup was successful because I called customer service to confirm and I also received an email about it.

The New Citi ThankYou Premier Card

Last month, I wrote about all the new changes in the Citi ThankYou Preferred and now I’m writing about the new Premier card. Sadly, the new card will undergo a complete facelift and all the benefits and perks of the card that I actually am willing to PAY an annual fee for are gone. And all this right after I just mention I used one of my perks on the card!

It’s not announced on the Citibank website yet, but I’ve received through paper mail a package regarding all the changes to the Citi ThankYou Premier card that I have. The new card benefits will take effect starting Oct 20, 2013 for all existing cardholders.

Just a quick recap, the existing card benefits with $125 annual fee are:
